Tom Banwell will be leading a two hour long workshop on making a leather steampunk respirator “Ronin” on Saturday, June 14, 2014 from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Idea Fab Labs, 603 Orange St, Chico, CA. The workshop will be limited to 15 students and will cost $35. No leatherworking experience is required.

Each student will receive a kit consisting of 15 laser cut veg tan leather parts, two resin canisters, and all the hardware, thread, foam pads and instructions required to make this fashionable steampunk accessory.

Tom will offer assistance in the assembly of the Ronin, including the hand-stitching and riveting. Students should be able to leave the workshop with an assembled respirator, and will know how to color the leather (once the leather is dry) and attach the straps and canisters.
