Register NowDates and Times:Monday August 10th and Tuesday August 11th 6-8pm Class Description:Learn the basic principles of cabinetry and furniture making by constructing a small box that the student will be able to take home. This class will teach students how to prepare lumber, how to use table saw jigs to safely and accurately cut miter joints, and how to create a simple inlay of a contrasting wood to provide a decorative element to the box. Students will learn how to assemble and clamp their boxes, as well as wood finishing techniques and adding hinges to the lid. |

Cedar will be provided, or Mahogany for a slightly higher fee, wood glue, polyurethane for finishing, hinges.
$30 materials fee, dust mask and a pencil. I will require every student to wear a mask while in the shop. |
Brett has been in the building industry for 8 years now. He was also a member of a wood workers club in Washington DC where he learned fine furniture building skills. In his spare time Brett reads articles and watches many videos on wood working skills and techniques.
